TIRM 2008

The Telecommunications and Information Resource Management Graduate Certificate and Training Program jump started the Fall 2008 semester on August 26, 2008 with an Orientation to the program and introduction to the courses and instructors.  This year's TIRM Program has the same program design as the previous years, where the curriculum incorporates a comprehensive look of ICT and information resource policy, planning, technology systems, regulation and management.

The program is offered in an accelerated format geared toward working professionals as well as students who are looking to gaining skills and strengthening their understanding ICT and Telecommunication Policy and management.  The demographics of the 2008 TIRM students range from  graduate students who are focused on Communication careers to IT Technicians to a General Manager of a Telecommunications Corporation.  This mixture of student background fosters a very lively and broad dialogue on current ICT and Telecommunications issues.

In addition, this year is the third and final year of a three-year grant awarded by the Sasakawa Pacific Island Nations Fund to the University of Hawaii Telecommunications and Information Policy Group (UH TIPG) to support seven (7) Pacific Island students to attend the 10-month program.  This years students are from the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau and Samoa.
